The Silver

the silver silently peeled
as the mirror refused to shift
the light into the bedroom

the bodies were jagged
with loss of image

passion eroded the glass eye
and it swelled the deep room

the story came in fragments:
"their bodies twisted"
"once they kissed on the floor"
"she was bleeding on the sheets"

little images impressed themselves
on slivers of silver
and floated out the window

they were blinded suddenly
