Privacy

If you create an O Captain account, we process your email address, account identifier, and the name you choose to provide. If you choose Apple or Google sign-in, that provider supplies the identity information needed to authenticate you.

Your saved poems, reading history, and reading preferences are associated with your account or stored locally on your device, depending on the feature. When you submit a poem, we process the name, email address, PDF, title, biography, and note that you choose to send.

We use account information to sign you in and provide your collection. We use submission information to review work, communicate about it, and preserve editorial records. We may process limited technical request information to operate and secure the website and app.

We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising.

Supabase provides our account, database, and private submission-storage infrastructure. Apple and Google process sign-in only when you choose their respective sign-in options. Their handling of data is governed by their own privacy policies.

We keep account information while your account is active. Deleting your account removes the account and its associated O Captain profile, saved poems, and reading history. Locally saved reading preferences remain on your device until you remove the app or clear its storage.

We retain a submitted poem and its editorial record while it is being reviewed and, when necessary, afterward to document the editorial decision or meet legal obligations. You may ask us to delete a submission through Support.

You can delete your account directly in the O Captain app: Settings → Account → Delete account. The same instructions, and a request path if you cannot access the app, are available on Delete account.

If this policy materially changes, we will update its effective date here before the change takes effect.
