News after the Rally
It's wrong how the eye takes sides.
The news and police choppers
drift like hawks in the sky,
and the sun blinks through
like God the Exhausted.
From a height like that, we're only so
many shivering fools. No,
the camera isn't fair -
shot through a riot shield
oracold tier of air. Look here:
where the cops in stern blue
swing their black clubs down,
and through the pepper mist
a girl screams, peace, peace
you fucking pigs. This
scene won't even hide
in the gray bowels of the paper
whose editors sigh,
It's wrong how the eye takes sides.
