[Yesterday morning I woke up]

[YESTERDAY MORNING]
Yesterday morning I woke up
with an extra dimension
My shoulders were broader, first of all,
and my breathing deeper, and moving around
was easier, I got limber,
something more and differently
A dream like a wave washing and drenching a dry beach
had flooded me deep down in that place where
most people never go, out of caution
or inertia, afraid of raising old dust,
and there, au contraire, lay a treasure:
drawings, ink splashes on a big sheet of paper
shapes and some wholly new material
still-unknown fragments of my own universe.
In fact I was bigger, joyful, strong inside
from that excess which is real life not mere survival:
Power. This time I was truly aware of it,
not just merely using it
but enjoying it fully with mind as well as body.
Now I knew the true taste of that power, that total self-ease
rid of the wavering and waffling that my doubts
imposed on it when society's inhumanness seemed crushing.
As I walked along, my body filled with desire to be united
with a woman to multiply my wonder.
Here I am, offered up to ardor
and to that throbbing of desire for other women.
