From the Upper Jurassic
Before the birds
who came to nest
within the arms
of trees, came these
who ate the trees,
who strode among
the crowns of trees
where no bird was.
Who bore within
their rolling tons,
their meaty breasts
the songs of birds.
Who bore within
their sailing breasts
and rolling tons
the songs of birds.
