Sir Walter Ralegh and the Milkweed

The milkweed is amnesia,
the fallen star of Sir Walter Ralegh.
The milkweed is physics,
a little porcupine spark
lopped off
by the axe of frost.
Now Ralegh is a neck.
Now Ralegh is
a red necklace.
Ralegh is faceless.
The axe of frost
does not forget.
The milkweed is an asterisk
referring only to itself.
