Fresh from his
History of Water
And The Theory of Halves,
The professor arrives.
Perhaps he has come
To compare the literature.
He will not begin
With poems, likening them
To fathers or the stones
In brooks for telling
Always the old
Same voluble story.
Diligently he resembles
The Form of the Essay.
He is probably happy
Like the childhood of others.
The sun is making
It perfectly clear.
