Toward the North Pole

Bleak is the arctic ice

Better to stark the Pole

From near the Equator

Under a mango tree

Focus the Mind's eye North

White on environing white

The Pole eludes

But capped with slab

Or crowned with obelisk

The Aurora Borealis

Colors it with lights

See

Where the summer tourist trudges toward it

With guide and alpenstock

TOWARD NIRVANA

Assume

Upon a lotus

An hieratic posture

Umbilical fixation may assist

Castrate each sense

Purge memory

Extirpate desire

Think nothing

Whiten the thought
