The Beauty of Women

Delicate women, with eyes open,

Arms flung lightly as they ride,

Naked feet covered with jewels,

Some small scarf trailing from their wrists,

Shoulders of the spirit:

This is the secret of Nonnus and Pelagia,

A chorus of old men shouting Amen.
