Venus and Nausicaa
I met Nausicaa when I was her age,
Tipsy from the sea's throes, nothing on her merry
Making body but saltwater sparkling dry.
When I left she waved from the water's edge.
I vowed I would settle for no lady less,
But all I got was a statue's stony stare.
And my eyes and nostrils stung by the azure
Shallows Venus shrugs off like a rumpled dress.
