Boy in Canoe

two poems
BOY IN CANOE
In pod-shaped canoe
on the spanking lake
he propels his cradle
through uterine blue
his arms tatooed with
Grace & Force
the scoop of his long chest
Light & Strong
as the shell
Yellow his head
as if pollen-dusted
Stern-innocent his eyes
are turned to the fierce
sun's shield
unmindful of Medusas he must
pierce or yield to
voyage done
Between his thighs
like a young frog
in a loose fist
precious lies his genital
and pulsing in their
pouches wait
the little gold grains
of giant's teeth
to burrow into Dark & Wet
at summer's end
at the lake's bend
