Ballad

TWO POEMS
BALLAD
One night the childrea
Discovered an angel asleep in the forest;
He was sparkling,
Next to the blossoming branches of the boxwood-
A fragrance of heaven.
He was slumbering more deeply than the poppies,
His dreams bright
With love and affairs of the heart.
The night was trembling...
And the children tell how they saw then
The sad taper
In the distance of oaks and willows
And there was steel and bronze
In the color.
They are goblins and kobolds from the hut
Who set their table at midnight
And look at the angel
With intentions
Both fervent and greedy. But quickly the children
Pelt him with flowers
And with a delicate murmur
He spreads his wings.
