Perseus Slew the Monster

Perseus slew the monster, being more
A hero than a poet, unbeguiled
By art and undismayed by gore
And unconfused by how a creature smiled.
But I am I-who humbly wooed the smile
And would not lift my eyes, though well aware.
Your arms encircled me a little while.
I am content: unbind your hair.
