The Mountains
I look to the far mountains
To the stripped, desolate place -
Over the lush lowlands
The sharp precipice.
I remember mountains
Before I remember life;
My heart, their intimate,
Will not lie safe.
Turning from the diffuse
And multitudinous plain,
Ever it rises to meet
The pure outline.
