Laying on of Hands

I go through the great woods slowly,
eyes at last on the ground.
With these so mortal hands
I touch the heads of young giants,
blessing them against wind and fire and lightning.
The heads I touch may stand among the clouds
when I am dust four thousand years.
.+.. What is this airless wind
that burns through tree and priest?
