Garden Theme

Women forever innocent of deed,
And men forever innocent of heart,
Frolic like children with the fateful seed,
Planting together, harvesting apart.
Having no incantation for their fears,
Vicarious magic for the darkened moon,
They till the deathless garden of the years
With careless gesture and capricious tune,
And know not, as their children cannot know,
What seed will ripen from the seed they sow.
