Silences of Love

SILENCES OF LOVE
Silences are primal speech
Of lovers, calling each to each.
Their rapture does not ask or give,
They doubt no longer why they live.
For a brief space their way is clear,
Free from the undertow of fear.
Love has its silences of grief,
With loneliness a hidden reef-
Only a sea's ungarnered field
Such void of emptiness may yield.
