Bitter Sweet

Once in the soil of hell,
Dropped by what hands who knows,
The seed of a lily fell,
Took root and rose.
There amid agonies
Spread she her shining core,
Unto sad memories
Adding one more.
Thus for my punishment
Once in my heart so wild
Rose the sweet devil-sent
Love of a child.
Gathered all ghosts of dead
Loves that I used to kiss:
"Why did you not," they said,
"Love me like this?"
