The Twa Corbies

As I was walking all alane,
I heard twa corbies making a mane;moan
The tane unto the t'other say,one
"Where sall we gang and dine to-dayshall / go

"In behint you auld faW dyke, old / turf / ditch
I woe there lies a new slain knight;know
And naebody kens that he lies there, knows
But his hawk, his hound, and lady fair.

"His hound is to the hunting gane, gone
His hawk to fetch the wild-fowl hame,
His lady's ta'en another mate,
So we may mak our dinner sweet.

"Ye'll sit on his white hause-bane,neck hone
And I'll pike out his bonny blue eenpick/eyes
Wi' ae lock 0' his gowden hairone / golden
We'll theek our nest when it grows bare.thatch

"Mony a one for him makes mane, many
But nane sall ken where he is gane;none/shall /know
0'er his white banes, when they are bare, bones
The wind sail blaw for evermair.
