The spruces rough in the distant glitter
Of the January sun; and not to think
O f a n y m i s e r y i n t h e s o u n d o f t h e w i n d ,
I n t h e s o u n d o f a f e w l e a v e s ,
Which is the sound of the land
F u l l o f t h e s a m e w i n d
T h a t i s b l o w i n g i n t h e s a m e b a r e p l a c e
For the listener, who listens in the snow,
And, nothing himself, beholds
Nothing that is not there and the nothing that is.
