In the Margins

I am listening to dust: your letters
don't speak anymore. Faith has slammed shut.
The dead go in and out so skillfully,
while the bed grows wider and emptier
under a gray heaven. A sunflower tells me
everything as it blooms, as you turn
to kiss me at the edge of the forest.
Forget me. It's a small request.
