[LA MENTE E IL CORPO SONO ANGELI]

La mente e il corpo sono angeli
del linguaggio, l'allegoria & quel semplice
 oggetto che passa
 nelle notti estive:

i bambini accerchiano i luoghi deserti

e parlare in codice é vietato:

si sale fra costellazioni di desiderio
  ma siamo sempre qui
fra fiori di pesco e agili lune
  che predispongono il senso dell'eroe.

[THE MIND AND BODY ARE ANGELS]

The mind and body are angels
of language, allegory is that simple
   object that passes
   through summer nights:

   life invents particulars
it is not the thing that translates language
   and remembers the trace
   that marks the earth:

   children circle deserted places
and the spirit of the air comes
   to a strange conclusion:
descend. with resignation into the existent
   but swallows must recall
that the only path is formal melancholy.

       [NOW TO REOPEN A TEXT]

Now to reopen a text
of an old author,
but one hundred years ago I am nothing,
the back of the shop is dark
and to speak in code is forbidden:

we rise among constellations of desire
but we are still here
among the flowers of peach trees and agile moons
that condition our sense of the hero.
