Noli Me Tangere

Sustaining unbreathing poise, arms crossed,
legs crossed and re-crossed, balancing

Not touching. Stiff deliberate revisions
of position: as precise as diplomats
around, around their heavy chairs; or birds
in flight that only touch to court or kill.
