My Windblown Poem

How to describe a petal
sometimes cripples my eyes,
strangles my fingers,
but to describe the loss of my poorest poems
is losing both hands.
It is being a seagull dragging her flock
to her lifeline for food and escape
or a child winging to and fro,
watching from a father's arms
on a holiday sea breathing away his laughter.
