Jealous

The princess never knew her gentle mother.
The princess loved the irritable king.
The princess did not know her fool would bring
The princess and the king close to each other.

The princess died because a hand to smother
The princess was commanded by the king
The princess loved. Pages began to sing
The princess to her marble when another

Sudden word flashed from the throne-room: 'Hold
The pillows!' Courtiers edged away. "Too late?
Alas! I have discovered that her fate
Is undeserved. She did not take this bold
Rubbish between her dry sheets after all!'
Her fool was hanged, her bier sung down the hall.
